Plaza Ford Demolition Later This Month, Maybe

The owner said asbestos abatement has been done.

The Auto Plaza Ford building is a step closer to being demolished, according to the owner, Dan Lesseg. He said asbestos abatement has been completed.

The building, on the northwest corner of Manchester and Big Bend, is the future site of a new QuikTrip.

Lesseg said disconnecting the utilities is the only thing remaining before demolition, and it’s hard to say when that will happen.

“They’re pretty much at the whim of the utilities on these things,” he said. “Going through the CVS project, I know this pretty well.” Lesseg owns the southeast corner of the intersection as well, where a CVS pharmacy was recently built.

He said QuikTrip is anticipating demolition of the building toward the end of August, but it’s not a sure thing.
