Sandwiches and 'Wholesale Sushi' at Old Quiznos: Not a Sushi Hangout Spot

The owners plan to be open seven days a week, for sandwiches.

If you've heard the proposed new business at the old Quiznos location will be a 'wholesale sushi' operation, don't get your hopes up, if you're a fan.

Sushi will not be sold to the public.

According to information released prior to the Maplewood City Council meeting on Tuesday, the same couple who had the Quiznos, at Big Bend and Flora Avenue, will run the new business, to be called Toasters.

They plan a wholesale sushi operation in the morning and a non-chain sandwich shop for eat in or take out from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. seven days a week.

They expect to hire about 10 employees.

The proposed new business passed the Maplewood Plan and Zoning Commission 6-0 and will be before the city council on Tuesday.
