Schlafly Farmers Market Now Takes SNAP Payments

SNAP is now the name of the national food stamp program.

The Schlafly Farmers Market started taking SNAP payments as of August 21, the market announced on its website this week.

SNAP stands for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, which is now the official name of the national food stamp program.

Receiving the processing machine from USDA and the Missouri Dept. of Agriculture has been a year in the making.
