Southwest Diner is Open, East of Maplewood on Southwest

The breakfast/lunch diner styled to look like it's in northern New Mexico is now open. It's on Southwest Avenue, east of Maplewood.

My waitress at the Southwest Diner had a cactus tattoo. No kidding. She said it was a coincidence, but that it didn't hurt getting hired.

I had to try the new diner out, having driven by it for months with the "coming soon" sign in the door.

Thursday morning was the diner's second day open. I had a basket of hot sopapillas, served with honey. I'll be back for Jonathan's Famous Fiery Scramble.
