Two Retailers Coming to Downtown Maplewood
Owner David Schlafly is rehabbing the space in the 7400 block of Manchester Road.
One of the larger unoccupied commercial spaces in downtown Maplewood will hopefully soon have tenants.
David Schlafly, owner of the 10,000 square foot building at 7412 Manchester Road, won’t say yet who the tenants will be, only that there will be two of them and they will be retail.

He’s doing a gut rehab that will expose the brick walls and maple floors. The false ceiling will be removed and a loft area will be built.

New windows will go in the front and back of the building, and skylights will be added. The building will be named “Light Works.”
He expects the work to be finished in time for a December opening.
Schlafly purchased, rehabbed and leased out two other buildings in the area: a three-story office space at 2731 Sutton Boulevard and a 100-year-old mule barn, near that one, that he leased out about six months ago.
