Used Book Store Forced Out in Rock Hill, Considering Maplewood

The Book House is in an historic building that will soon likely be demolished.

The Book House is a used book shop with a lease in a historic two-story Gothic Revival house in Rock Hill.

The lease ends July 31.

They've been there for decades, but the owner, Michelle Barron, received a notice this week that she and her shop need to be out by the end of July, according to an report in the Riverfront Times.

Developers and the city of Rock Hill are exploring the possibility of demolishing the house and building a large storage facility.

In spite of the eviction notice, Barron has started a petition to remain, Webster Groves Patch reported.

She's also looking for a new location, and listed Maplewood as a possibility.
