Water Street Cafe Noted as ALIVE Haute Spot

The Maplewood restaurant and bar opened last spring and is quickly gaining a following.

When Gabe Kveton opened last spring, we asked if downtown Maplewood was too crowded for another restaurant and bar.

Kveton told Patch that Maplewood had plenty of room. He was right.

Water Street was named to ALIVE Magazine's Haute Spots this year. The list collects the most talked about restaurants in the St. Louis area, the magazine notes.

Water Street is on the list with the likes of Mad Tomato, Salt and Prime 1000. Writer Cristy Miller describes Water Street this way:

The menu, while small, is focused and features a variety of vintage and creative cocktails and food inspired by the local farmers’ market. Add in a casual, cool bistro-style atmosphere, and you can easily see why this new restaurant has become an instant favorite.

If you want my recommendation, I'd order a Rye Half Flip. Or two or three.
