Welding Company To Bond With St. Louis City

Jones & Lockhart Welding, Inc. will soon leave St. Louis County for the City when the company moves its headquarters eastward in March of 2014.

Jones & Lockhart Welding, a welding and fabricating shop in business since 1946, will move to its new 51,000-square-foot location at 3401 Morgan Ford which is situated on 4.5 acres.  The company recently purchased the building for $820,000 and will invest $460,000 in renovations for electrical work and office upgrades.  An additional $250,000 will be spent on new equipment including cranes and heat treat ovens.  Jones & Lockhart Welding was previously located at 10500 Page in a 16,000-square-foot building.  The company includes another in-house operation, Thermco, Inc., which offers stress-relieving and heat-treating services.

Hilliker Corporation, a St. Louis owned and managed commercial real estate company, assisted Jones & Lockhart Welding in the 18-month quest for its new facility.  Hilliker Corporation’s broker Meade Summers represented the seller, Boling Spring Ave. Property, Inc.; Hilliker broker Patrick McKay represented the buyer, J & A Properties, L.L.C.

“Our current location was too far from our customer base,” said Jones & Lockhart Welding owner and president Steve Jones.  “We needed better highway access and more space to grow our business.”  Jones said he is the third generation to run the company that his grandfather started more than 60 years ago.
