Eagles, Blue Devils Duke it Out For Charity

The Brentwood Eagles and MRH Blue Devils will be ringing the Salvation Army bell to raise funds for the needy on Saturday.

The holidays always give us the opportunity to give back. With the economy the way it is, some people have really had to cut back. For this reason some people aren't able to provide their families with a Merry Christmas this year.

The Salvation Army uses the funds raised over the holiday season throughout the year to help needy families. If they fall short, families and programs suffer all year long.

This year, the Eagles and Blue Devils have answered the bell and are ready to battle it out for charity.

The Brentwood boys varsity basketball team and MRH Blue Devils are stepping up to the challenge and both teams need your help. From noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, at on the corner of Brentwood Boulevard and Manchester Road, the Eagles will be ringing the Salvation Army bell to raise funds for the needy! Just east, the Blue Devils basketball team will be ringing the bell at from noon to 2 p.m. as well.

We all know the economy isn't perfect, but if you have just a little change or anything, please stop by, visit, meet the players, and drop off a donation. Coach Kern has taken a proactive approach to giving back every year since he has been the coach at Brentwood. He really uses basketball as a tool to teach kids to work hard and give back to the less fortunate.

The Eagles usually visit the childrens hospital to drop off gifts as well. If you would like to go a step further and drop off an unwrapped, unopened gift for the kids during this time you are welcome to do so. Just east, the MRH Blue Devils and coach Corey Frazier also use basketball as a tool or avenue to help others.

Please get out and help a worthy cause and experience the rivalry in a positive light!! Whoever raises the most has bragging rights for 2012.
