Health & Fitness

Special thanks to the folks from the Patch for allowing me to share some of the history of the City of Maplewood, Missouri

The Patch has been a very interesting and useful website and I’ve been privileged to be a part of it these past 2 ½ years.  The Patch editors I’ve worked with including Ryan Martin, Lindsey Toler, Doug Miner and others have been terrific.  I can’t imagine how this site will be once these talented folks are gone.

The internet is changing the way we live in many ways, positive and otherwise.  But I’m positive that it is dramatically increasing the number of people who are interested in our history and our historic architecture.  This is truly rewarding.  Maybe it will be less of a fight in the future to save some of our best buildings.  Let’s hope so.

Two new sites are being developed that promise to carry on where the Patch is leaving off.  The first is 40 South News with Doug Miner at the helm and the second is the Maplewood Heritage Society created by Luke Havel.  They both have exciting prospects and I intend to support them both.  I hope you will as well.

Don’t forget to support the businesses that advertise with 40 South News.  Doug Miner has proven his worth and he is skinny enough already.

I’m uncertain at this point what the situation at the Patch will be.  I’d like to say they have been very nice to me.  They haven’t edited a word from any of my posts.
