Get Out: Fundraisers, Taste of Maplewood and Lindbergh Schools Festival

We've got a few ideas for your weekend. Get out and have a good time!


Where/When:  , 2810 Sutton Blvd., Maplewood; 7 p.m. Friday.
Why Go: Let your inner rock star out to support Maryville University's music therapy and songwriting program  for kids battling cancer and other blood disorders. The inaugural fundraiser features the British invasion music of Flaming Pie and, in keeping with the rock-star theme, a Green Room food and beverage spread!
Pricing: $100 per ticket


Where/When: , 3200 Laclede Station Rd., Maplewood; 9 a.m. Saturday.
Why Go: Washers for Wellness sponsors this event and the proceeds support pulmonary fibrosis research.  In addition to the washers games you can enjoy barbecue and win prizes.
Pricing:$30 per player, 2 player teams


Where/When: Crickett Field in Forest Park, Grand Dr. and Crickett Dr.; 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.
Why Go: Proceeds benefit the Missouri Humane Society of Missouri's Animal Cruelty Fund which is dedicated to the prevention of animal abuse. Have fun watching performances by the Purina Incredible Dog Team, enjoy pet contests and more. Come alone to support the walk or make it a doggy-date and bring a canine friend or two (that's the limit). No retractable leashes and your dog's vaccinations must be up to date.
Pricing: Minimum requested donation is $25 for adults and $5 for youth ages 4-15. Free for children ages 3 and younger. Dogs are free too.

Where/When: Sutton Blvd. in Maplewood, noon-9 p.m. Saturday.
Why Go: Are you kidding? In addition to the fabulous food offerings, the music mainstage features performances by House of Bishops, Soulard Blues Band and Kim Massie. The community stage line-up features entertainment by Black Cat/Piwacket Theatre, Three Rivers Akido, DD's Dance and Folk School of Music.

Where/When: , 436 Crestwood Plz.; 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.
Why Go: The ABC Brigade sponsors this opportunity to get armed with information about preventing strokes with guest speakers, literature and screenings.

Where/When: Parade kicks off starting at Sperreng Middle School, 12111 Tesson Ferry Rd.; 9 a.m. Saturday.
Why Go: After the parade, festivities continue on the Lindbergh High School campus with rides, games, food and free child IDs from the Missouri Child Identification Program.
Pricing: Ride bracelets and ticket packages are $7.50-$39


Where/When: Lindbergh Schools Auditorium, 4900 S Lindbergh Blvd.; 3 p.m. Sunday.
Why Go: The STOMP-inspired performances are guaranteed energy boosters!

Where/When: Stroup Field, Old Warson and Mckinley, Rock Hill.; 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
Why Go: Cause there's a whole lot going on! In addition to the movie, there's a dog adoption event, classic car show and martial arts demonstrations.
Pricing: Free


Where/When: , 801 W Essex Ave.; 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.
Why Go: Don't miss a great opportunity to be green when tossing that old computer or electronic device. Tax letters provided onsite. Sponsored by Wits, Inc.
Pricing: Items are accepted free of charge, donations are requested to help cover recycling costs for lead-containing items.


Where/When: , 1500 San Simeon Way, Fenton.; 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.
Why Go: More than 50 families are participating so that means there's a good chance of finding treasures!
