Morning Exchange: Reflections on the Last 10 Years

Some 2010 census numbers are in, and here's what we know: St. Louis County is below 1 million people now, Maplewood's population dropped significantly in the past 10 years and, bucking the trend, Brentwood actually grew in population.

I'll be talking to civic and business leaders about the census data today, but I'd love to hear from you too. What do you make of the numbers? How has Maplewood and/or Brentwood changed over the past 10 years? What thoughts and stories can you share with the community?

More Snow?

Not to be outdone by yesterday's announcement of a and , Mother Nature decided to throw us a curveball by making it snow overnight. Forecasts today call for mostly cloudy weather with a high of 38 degrees and a nighttime low around 28, according to the National Weather Service.

What We're Working On

• I'll be working on follow-up stories to yesterday's release of census data. I'd love to hear your thoughts on how Brentwood and Maplewood have changed over the past 10 years. 
• A motivational speaker will talk to Brentwood Middle School students and I'll bring you photos from the event.
