Jo-Ann Fabrics & Crafts opened on Friday.

Deer Creek Center stores will be opening this spring and summer.

Michele Larkin, a catering manager with McAlister's Deli, said a lease for a Deer Creek spot is signed and they hope to open by July 1.

Jo-Ann Fabrics & Crafts, on Friday, was the first of the new Deer Creek Center tenants to open, and a banner at the Marshalls location promises the store will open soon.

A list of 12 new stores are confirmed for Deer Creek Center. Maplewood Ward 1 alderman Shawn Faulkingham listed them on his Facebook page last month, and city manager Marty Corcoran recently confirmed the list.

Finally! Congrats Maplewood, for encouraging these businesses to make their home here. Now just do the right thing about the QT for the safety of our children.

Hmm I think Karen Wood and David Cerven are Ward 1 Council members. Shawn Faulkingham is ward 3.
Yes, it would be nice to get rid of that building blocking line of site, and open it up as QT wants to do, along with the other things they have offered to do.

I live about two blocks from this shopping center. When Venture came in, it was great. That turned into K-Mart which closed also. It has been such.a ghost town. I am very excited about this shopping center being redone. It will definately be a place I frequent often. Thank you!

I was just thinking, if you happen to see something.....like the sign in front of City Hall, or theRead More sign in Schnuck's parking lot....regarding something going on in Brentwood, now you can click on the "Post" board at the top of the page, and let people know what is happening in Brentwood. We have the new format so we can now post whatever we want. Just click and post. Anyone can do it too.

I doubt this discrepancy you think exists is because the editors have more of a connection toRead More Maplewood. I imagine it is because Maplewood officials and Chamber of Commerce members send press releases to the editors regarding upcoming events and news items. If you want your local community to have more of a presence in the Patch, I suggest you contact the proper officials in Brentwood and urge them to send such notices. Self-promotion for a community is a good thing, although in the case of Brentwood Days and other iconic Brentwood events, it was my understanding that the city didn't want it publicized and preferred it to be a smaller event.
