MRH Students Visit Burlington, Vermont

Three MRH students traveled to Burlington, VT, to view other schools' sustainability projects.

On Sunday, September 17, two students and one student accompanied MRH high school science teacher Ben Nims to Burlington, Vermont. According to senior Kaila Nong and a member of the , the group went to return a favor to the school district.

“School officials had come to MRH and saw our schools, gardens, and other sustainable programs. So we went to Vermont to return the favor,” said Nong.

They also went to look at how other schools were working with systems thinking and sustainability.

“We wanted to study how other schools were implementing systems thinking and sustainability in their schools and to see how Shelburn farms is helping the school district,” said junior Curtis Boclair, who is also a member of the Chickenologist group.

After four days of working with these schools, the group came back on September 21.
