Making your holiday shopping plans? Plan on heading to Maplewood for Small Business Saturday on Nov. 24th. The SBA estimates that about 49% of private-sector employment comes from small businesses. Anybody who walks around Maplewood could tell you that our small businesses give the town its unique feel and lend it a great character. Our small business owners work very hard throughout the year and many lend their time outside of work helping to make Maplewood such a great community.
Maplewood is promoting Small Business Saturday here. I don’t have any statistics to back this up but an educated guess would tell me that a lot of the money that you spend at a Maplewood small business will stay in the community. Maybe you usually go to the big box stores but make a point to shop at a locally based business like Gisele’s, Vom Fass, J&E Office City, Paramount Jewelers, or any number of other small local businesses this holiday season. After Small Business Saturday another great opportunity to support the community is the Maplewood Christmas Tree Walk on December 7th.
Maplewood's small business owners put a lot into the Maplewood community so support them and shop local, especially during the holiday season.
