William B. Brankel Jr. of Maplewood Dies

Brankel and three sisters grew up on Lindbergh Drive in a house built by their father.

William (Bill) B. Brankel Jr. died of pneumonia June 13, the St. Louis Post Dispatch reports.

Brankel was born in "north St. Louis in the Irish community known as Kerry Patch. He grew up in his treasured Maplewood along with his three sisters, the late Julia Bishop, the late Delores Angthius and the late LaVerne Guzzi in a house built by their father on Lindbergh Drive," the obituary states.

He worked for McDonnel-Douglas Aircraft for 30 years.
