ST. LOUIS – Brookes Bible College, an evangelical higher academic institution serving the metro St. Louis region, will be holding their 2014 graduation ceremony at their new facility in St. Ann Sat., May 10 at 9 a.m. Students, faculty, staff, friends, and family are all welcome to attend.

The Class of 2014 will be the first in history to graduate at the grounds of Brookes Bible’s brand new campus, which will be open for the summer semester beginning Tues., May 20.

“No event is of greater importance than graduation at Brookes Bible College,” said Dr. Chris Stocklin, President of Brookes Bible College. “It is the pinnacle of the academic institution as men and women have earned their respective academic degree. It is a day in which the following words are appropriate to each graduate – ‘job well done.’”

The college is proud to be presenting students with their hard-earned associate degrees and sending them out to the world to do the will of God.

The speaker for the graduation ceremony will be Jerry Marshall, the pastor-teacher at New Community Church.

As a pastor-teacher, Marshall has been assisting the spiritual growth of church members and spreading the gospel since 1989. “I am deeply committed to the expositional teaching of God’s Word, declaring God’s revealed truth, one verse at a time,” he said.

Marshall has previous worked as the pastor of Bethany Baptist Church in St. Louis, the pastor of Fox Lake Baptist Church in Fox Lake, Ill., and the Minister of Youth and Discipleship at Moraine Valley Baptist Church in Palos Heights, Ill.

Marshall, who has a B.A. in Applied Christian Studies at Trinity College in Deerfield, Ill., and has completed coursework for his Master’s of Ministry degree at Moody Graduate School, was not always dedicated to the Lord.

“My original goal in life was to become a professional musician,” Marshall said. “I achieved that goal at age 21; however, the profession that I thought would bring fulfillment to my life left me with great emptiness. Playing in a rock band involved much time away from home, which caused a great strain on my marriage and family life.”

After a nearly fatal experience with drugs, Marshall finally saw the reality of what was happening and took action.

“When my wife put her trust in Christ as Savior, the change amazed me and left me asking many questions,” Marshall remarked. “She invited the pastor over, and at the end of his visit, I placed my trust in Christ and His work on the cross for the salvation of my soul as well.”

Marshall has been married to his wife Cindy for 46 years and has three children, David, Tony, and Brandon.

Brookes Bible College offers an affordable, two-year program. Each student gains a greater knowledge of the Bible. Brookes’ students are equipped with tools for applying the knowledge they gain for various fields of Christian service.
