I remember being in the choir there in grade school. We used to sing for funerals, and also for Midnight Mass every year. We wore white robes and big red bows, and stood on the altar to sing Christmas Carols. I went for years after I graduated, (1953) to Midnight Mass just to listen to the choir. We actually had a 50 year grade school reunion in 2003. Saw many of my old classmates, I had not seen in 50 years. My class was the first class to make their First Communion in the new church. I however made mine the year before at Little Flower school in Richmond Heights. I didn't move to Brentwood until 1946 for 2nd grade. I still have several friends that I see now and then.....known them for 65 years now. Good to have friends that I get to visit with, whom I have known for that long. Many happy memories of St. Mary Magdalen Church and school.
