Police: Laclede Station Home Robbed Twice in 2 Days

Maplewood Police reports suspected crimes in a weekly blotter.

The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. 

Monday, July 22

  • A 24-year-old man was arrested on a drug violation and possession of drug paraphernalia resulting from a traffic stop conducted in the area of W. Bruno and Maplewood Commons Drive.
  • Officers went to the 7500 block of Sussex for a reported disturbance. An investigation revealed a 27-year-old man assaulted his girlfriend.  He was gone when the officers got there. In the early morning hours of July 23 he was found and arrested on domestic assault charges.
  • Someone drilled a hole into the trunk and gas tank of a car in the 7500 block of Kensington.
  • A leaving the scene of an accident was reported in the area of Margarette and Madge. A car parked here was hit by another unknown vehicle.

Wednesday, July 24

  • A 34-year-old man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated resulting from a traffic stop conducted in the 3700 block of Greenwood. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana.
  • A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Collector’s coins were reported stolen in the 2600 block of Laclede Station. On July 25 another burglary occurred at this same residence. The homeowner returned from a walk to discover an unknown white man in his kitchen, who ran away. An extensive area canvass was conducted, however Maplewood Police were unable to locate the suspect. He is described as a white male, approximately 30-35 years old, 6 feet tall, with a shaved head.  He was last seen running behind some businesses in the 7800 block of Manchester wearing a blue shirt and khaki pants. 

Thursday, July 25 

  • A 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • A juvenile was taken into custody on suspicion of shoplifting approximately $380 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. 

Friday, July 26

  • An 18-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • A 36-year-old female was arrested for passing a bad check at a Maplewood Commons business. 
  •  A 23-year-old man was arrested on a drug violation and drug paraphernalia charges at a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Multiple pieces of jewelry, several televisions and a laptop were reported stolen in the 7200 block of High Street. 

Saturday, July 27 

  • An officer on patrol saw a woman hit a man several times with her fist at the intersection of Manchester and Bellevue. The 34-year-old woman was taken into custody for assaulting her husband. The man was taken into custody for an active warrant through another jurisdiction.
  • A 33-year-old man driver was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated in the 2200 block of Yale.

Sunday, July 28

  • A 2003 red Honda moped was stolen from the 2400 block of Laclede Station between
  • A 48-year-old man was issued a summons for peace disturbance for suspicion of threatening another resident in the 7200 block of Anna.
