Mac HQ Hit with 2nd Smash and Grab in 3 Weeks

Mac HQ, in the 7100 block of Manchester Avenue, has been hit with its second smash and grab robbery since mid-May.

The suspects crashed a truck through the front door of the store around 4:40 a.m. KMOV reports.

The outside door was bent in and the glass was broken out in both front doors on Wednesday.

Owner Jim Votino had no comment. From appearances, nothing was taken from the showroom. All equipment was on the shelves Wednesday afternoon.

St. Louis police said the business has been broken into more than once in the past, most recently on May 16, as reported by Fox2.

Just west, in Maplewood, sales manager at Concours Auto, Jay Rogers, said it's just the times we live in.

"You have to take precautions for it, but you almost have to expect it. It's just going around," he said.

"The bad part of it is, it happens at night. They have alarms systems, but they're in and out so fast. You almost have to have a guard there," he said.
