Man Shot in Rock Hill 'Suffered Mental Breakdown,' Father Says

Kevin Worley, the man suspected in Friday's Rock Hill home invasion, was fatally shot Wednesday by Rock Hill police at the Conoco Gas Station at 9601 Manchester Rd.

His father, the Rev. Steve Robinson-Worley, called KMOV-TV Wednesday saying that his 25-year-old son has "suffered a mental breakdown." He told the station that when he last saw his son on Monday, he was emaciated and talking about the end of the world. 

Around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, police surrounded Worley at the gas station where his photo was behind the register, according to KMOV-TV. Officers asked Worley to show his hands, at which point he pulled out a weapon. Police then shot Worley in the chest.

A witness at the scene, . Shortly before the shooting, Jones walked into the gas station to buy a pack of cigarettes and was standing in line when the incident happened.

On Friday, Wolrey, allegedly armed with a silver handgun, walked into a home in the 1500 block of Blue Bell Lane. He entered through an unlocked door, stayed for about 10 minutes demanding the woman's vehicle and then drove away in her Honda CRV. She was not hurt in the incident.
