Man Stole Car from Maplewood Commons Parking Lot, Police Say

Maplewood police said Antonio Lamont Holt drove a 1994 Buick Century stolen from the city of St. Louis onto the lot and stole another older model Buick.

A man is accused of stealing a car from the Maplewood Walmart parking lot Aug. 8.

Antonio Lamont Holt, 31, of the 400 block of Lafayette Avenue in St. Louis, was charged Sept. 23 in St. Louis County Circuit Court with stealing a motor vehicle.

Maplewood police said a man reported his 1988 Buick LeSabre stolen at 6:18 p.m. Aug 8 at the Walmart store, 1900 Maplewood Commons Drive.

Police discovered a 1994 Buick Century in the same lot that was reported stolen in the city of St. Louis. Security video showed that the man who drove the Century onto the lot also stole the LeSabre, police said. Investigators identified Holt from the security video, according to a court document.

St. Louis Metropolitan police arrested Holt for stealing the Buick Century.

Holt is being held in the St. Louis City Justice Center. Bail for the Maplewood theft was set at $10,000. Bail for the city theft was set at $75,000.
