Man Who Spots Truck Being Stolen Goes On Wild Ride in Pickup Bed

Maplewood Police said the man accused of stealing the truck, Demarco McCaster, swerved in attempt to throw the man off the pickup.

A man who saw his pickup being stolen jumped into the truck bed and was taken for a wild ride March 7 in a Maplewood Commons parking lot.

Maplewood Police said Demarco McCaster, 28, stole the truck and when the owner saw his vehicle exiting the parking lot, he jumped into the pickup bed. McCaster swerved back and forth trying to throw the man from the bed as he drove through the area and onto eastbound Interstate 64.

Maplewood Police Sgt. Matt Nighbor said McCaster then pulled over on I-64 and assaulted the man.
