$1,400 of Jewelry, 4 Tires Valued at $2,000 Stolen, Police Say

The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. 

Monday, June 10

  • All four tires and wheels valued at approximately $2,000 were stolen off a vehicle in the 7200 block of Manchester Road between 5 p.m. on June 8 and 9 a.m. on June 10.
  • Police are investigating a reported credit card fraud of approximately $300 at a Maplewood Commons business.
  •  A 21-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • A 28 year old female was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.

 Tuesday, June 11

  • A 54-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  •  Jewelry, valued at $1,400 was reported stolen from a residence located in the 7300 block of Elm Avenue.  Police are following up on several leads regarding the theft.
  •  A 31-year-old woman was arrested on a suspected drug violation resulting from a traffic stop conducted in the area of Marshall and Sarah avenues.
  • A customer at a Maplewood Commons business reported her cell phone stolen while shopping. Police reviewed the video surveillance and identified the suspect responsible. The suspect was arrested several hours later and the victim’s phone was recovered. A 51-year-old man was charged with stealing.

Wednesday, June 12

  • A video game system and video games were reported stolen in the 3700 block of Cambridge Avenue. 
  • The driver side door lock was damaged and the ignition was tampered with on a vehicle in the 7200 block of Southwest Avenue. Nothing was stolen.

 Thursday, June 13

  • A cell phone was reported stolen from Ryan Hummert Park. Officers were able to locate the juveniles responsible for the theft in the 7500 block of Lohmeyer Avenue. The phone was recovered less than an hour after being stolen. The case has been forwarded to the St. Louis County Family Courts for consideration of charges. 

Friday, June 14

  • A 31-year-old man was arrested for a suspected drug violation in the 7500 block of Manchester.
  • Police are investigating the suspected theft of electronic equipment valued at $700 from a Maplewood Commons business. A suspect has been identified and police are attempting to locate the suspect. 
  • A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • While on patrol in the Yale and Lyndover an officer saw a group men arguing. When the officer stopped to investigate, one of the men ran. The officer was able to locate the man who fled. It was discovered he had a felony warrant. The 33-year-old man was also found to be in possession of marijuana and he was charged accordingly.
  • A 55-year-old man was arrested on a suspected drug violation and possession of drug paraphernalia in the 2200 block of Yale.

Saturday, June 15 

  • A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.

Sunday, June 16

  • A 2006 BMW was reported stolen from the 2600 block of Margarette Avenue. The car was recovered the next day in the area of Kingshighway and Interstate 44.
