Maplewood Man Charged With Assault in DWI Crash

Two passengers were injured in the July 9 incident. Maplewood Police said the driver's blood-alcohol content was 0.164 percent.

A Maplewood man faces criminal charges after police said a crash that injured passengers in his car occurred because he was driving under the influence of alcohol.

Adam Wimberley, 38, of the 7300 block of Myrtle Avenue in , was charged with second-degree assault, operating a vehicle while intoxicated resulting in injury.

said Wimberley was driving July 9 in the 3400 block of Greenwood Boulevard and was going too fast for the road conditions and had to slam on the brakes for a stop sign. Police said his pickup truck skidded through the stop sign, struck an embankment and was stopped by railroad tracks.

Both front-seat passengers were injured. One man had a facial fracture, a vertebra fracture and cuts to his face. A second man had a bump and cuts on his head.

Police said Wimberley’s blood-alcohol content measured at 0.164 percent, more than twice the legal limit.

Bond was set at $7,500.

I was just thinking, if you happen to see something.....like the sign in front of City Hall, or theRead More sign in Schnuck's parking lot....regarding something going on in Brentwood, now you can click on the "Post" board at the top of the page, and let people know what is happening in Brentwood. We have the new format so we can now post whatever we want. Just click and post. Anyone can do it too.

I doubt this discrepancy you think exists is because the editors have more of a connection toRead More Maplewood. I imagine it is because Maplewood officials and Chamber of Commerce members send press releases to the editors regarding upcoming events and news items. If you want your local community to have more of a presence in the Patch, I suggest you contact the proper officials in Brentwood and urge them to send such notices. Self-promotion for a community is a good thing, although in the case of Brentwood Days and other iconic Brentwood events, it was my understanding that the city didn't want it publicized and preferred it to be a smaller event.
