$2,500 in Construction Equipment is Reported Stolen in Maplewood

It was among the incidents reported in the Maplewood Police blotter between March 11-17.

The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. 

Monday, March 11

  • Police are investigating a domestic assault which occurred in the 2100 block of Bellevue.  A woman was allegedly assaulted by her boyfriend.
  • A window of a residence in the 2500 block of Big Bend had been reported broken out by unknown means. An investigation revealed the suspect(s) did not gain entry into the residence.
  • A leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident was reported on March 11.  The reporting party advised his vehicle had been struck in the parking lot in the 7500 block of Manchester on March 9.   

Wednesday, March 13

  • A 42-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting approximately $500 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • A 24-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting approximately $180 in various DVDS from a Maplewood Commons business.

Thursday, March 14

  • A 19-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana resulting from a traffic stop conducted near W. Bruno and Maplewood Commons Drive. 
  • A 25-year-old woman was arrested on drug charges in the 2200 block of Yale.
  • A 40-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. Police will be seeking felony theft charges through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office due to the suspect’s prior theft convictions.

Friday, March 15

  • An attempted auto theft was reported in the 3600 block of Manhattan.  Witnesses observed two men enter the victim’s vehicle at approximately 1 a.m. The suspects had apparently attempted to steal the vehicle but were unsuccessful. At approximately 9:30 a.m. on the same date, this agency responded to the 3600 block of Oxford wherein a 1998 Jeep Cherokee had been reported stolen. Police believe the two incidents are related. 
  • Construction equipment, valued at approximately $2,500, was reported stolen from the 3200 block of Laclede Station Road between 5 p.m. March 15 and 8 a.m. on March 16.

Saturday, March 16

  • A 2004 Jeep Cherokee was reported stolen from the 7200 block of Lanham. The vehicle was recovered later the same date in north St. Louis. Police are following up on several strong leads regarding the suspect.
  • A leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident was reported in the area of Sutton and Lohmeyer. A parked vehicle had been struck at the above location between midnight and 4:45 p.m. 

Sunday, March 17 

  • A 23-year-old driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated stemming from an accident investigation in the 7300 block of Manchester.
  • A 28-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
