Maplewood Police: Drug Charge on Lyndover, Bad Checks Passed on Manchester

The Maplewood Police Department reported these suspected crimes and others in its weekly report.

Tuesday, April 23

  • Two 17-year-old men were arrested for possession of marijuana after police responded to the 7200 block of Lyndover Place for a reported trespassing. 
  • A 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. The same subject was additionally charged with another stealing offense after it was discovered that he shoplifted merchandise from the same business the day prior on April 22.

  • A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia which was discovered during a suspicious vehicle check in the area of Margarette Avenue and Manchester Road.

Thursday, April 25

  • A 2002 Dodge Ram was reported stolen in the 2300 block of Bellevue Avenue. The vehicle theft occurred between 12:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. The vehicle has not been recovered.
  • A 25 year-old-man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting approximately $130 in DVDs from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police are investigating several bad checks written to a business in the 7300 block of Manchester Road. The report was filed on April 25, however both checks were written to the business in September of last year.

Friday, April 26

  • Maplewood Police responded to the 7200 block of High Street for a reported disturbance. They made contact with two occupants who were reportedly engaged in an argument prior to police arrival. A records check on the two male subjects revealed both were wanted by different agencies on active warrants. One of the subjects was wanted on a felony probation violation.
  • A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing a disturbance inside a business in the 7300 block of Manchester. The same subject was additionally charged with property damage after he allegedly damaged a door and hand sanitizer dispenser inside the business.

Sunday, April 28

  • Maplewood Police responded to the 7300 block of Maple Avenue for a reported disturbance. An investigation revealed a man and woman had been involved in a verbal altercation. A records check on the man revealed he was wanted by multiple agencies on failure to appear warrants. The 57-year-old man was subsequently arrested on the above warrants. There were no reported injuries regarding the disturbance.
  • A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting alcohol from a Maplewood Commons business.
