Maplewood Police Chase, Arrest Shoplifting Suspects

Also, a car window was broken on Roseland Terrance, police say.

Monday, September 30

  • Several bicycles were reported stolen from the rear yard of a business in the 2500 block of Bellevue Avenue.
  • Police are investigating a fraudulent use of a credit card for approximately $90 at a business in the 2600 block of Big Bend. The reporting party advised after losing his credit card, his financial institution notified him of fraudulent activity on his account. Police reviewed video surveillance at the business where the fraud took place and discovered that a man fraudulently used the victim’s credit card. 

Tuesday, October 1

  • Three men, ranging from age 22 to 36, were arrested on suspicion of stealing merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.  A computer inquiry revealed all three suspects were on probation for burglary, including the 22-year-old, with seven active warrants for his arrest.

Wednesday, October 2

  • Two men were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting from a Maplewood Commons business. One was additionally charged with resisting arrest by flight after running from officers. After a short foot pursuit, officers caught the second suspect at a Maplewood Commons restaurant. The second suspect was found hiding in a restroom at the restaurant.    
  • A window of a vehicle was shattered in the 2600 block of Roseland Terrace. It did not appear that the suspect broke into the vehicle.
