Maplewood Police: Computer, Faucet, Gallon of Milk Stolen

A cell phone was left unwatched on a store counter, and stolen.

The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, July 1

  • A window was broken on a vehicle in the 2300 block of Bellevue Avenue.  Police have several strong leads.
  • A customer at a Maplewood Commons business reported a cell phone was stolen.  An unidentified woman is suspected of leaving the business with the cell phone. Police are reviewing video surveillance in an attempt to identify the suspect.
  • A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting from a Maplewood Commons business.  He was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. 
  • A laptop computer and a gallon of milk were reported stolen from a residence in the 7500 block of Ellis Avenue. 

Tuesday, July 2

  • A wallet containing credit cards and cash was reported lost/stolen at a Maplewood Commons business.  The victim then contacted the credit card company and discovered unauthorized charges on a credit card at the Maplewood Commons business of approximately $80.  
  • Police are investigating a forged check of $1,188 cashed at a Maplewood Commons business. Police have several leads regarding the suspect responsible.
  • Speakers and a sink faucet were stolen from a Maplewood Commons business was reported. A suspect has not been identified at this time.

 Wednesday, July 3

  • A delayed larceny report was filed by a Maplewood Commons business. The business reported that several weeks ago a woman left a Maplewood Commons business with more than $500 in stolen merchandise.  She has been identified and police are trying to find her.
  •  A 19-year-old man was arrested in the 7300 block of Maple Avenue for disturbing the peace. 
  •  A leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident was reported on at the intersection of Bellevue and Bruno.  The reporting party advised a gold colored SUV failed to stop at the stop sign and struck the front passenger side of her vehicle.  The victim said the striking vehicle then left the scene to continue east on Bruno.

  • Two teenagers were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting approximately $160 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.

Friday, July 5

  • A woman reported she left a cell phone on a counter at a Maplewood Commons business and it was stolen. Police were able to identify a 59-year-old woman who is suspected of leaving the business with the cell phone.  She was arrested for the theft on July 7, and the phone was returned to its owner.
  • An unauthorized charge of more than $200 on a credit card was reported at a Maplewood Commons business.  Police have since identified a suspect.
  •  An attempted burglary was reported in the 2800 block of Laclede Station. The rear door of a residence was damaged and a shoe print was found on the door.  A white male approximately 16 to 18 years of age, brown hair, wearing a blue t-shirt and blue jeans was seen jumping over several fences near the residence. Police searched the area but were unable to find him. 

Saturday, July 6

  • A 52-year-old female was arrested in the 3300 block of Greenwood Avenue on suspicion of assaulting her boyfriend.
  • An attempted residential burglary, through a window, was reported in the 2100 block of Bellevue. 
Sunday, July 7
  • A 43-year-old man was issued a summons for disturbing the peace in the early morning hours near Marshall and Anna avenues.  He is suspected of yelling at another resident in the area. 
  • A 45-year-old man was arrested in the 2100 block of Bellevue Avenue on suspicion of assaulting his girlfriend.
