Maplewood Police: Two Charges of Assault, Checks Stolen by Acquaintance

The following items were reported by the Maplewood Police Department for July 23-29.

Monday, July 23

  • A 39-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting alcohol from a Maplewood Commons business, and was also found to have drug paraphernalia. He also had multiple warrants on his record. 

Tuesday, July 24

  • A 21-year-old woman was charged with assaulting her sister in the 2200 block of Yale Avenue, and was arrested.
  • A 35-year-old woman was charged with shoplifting from a business in the 7300 block of Manchester Road, and was arrested.

Wednesday, July 25

  • A 24-year-old man stopped the area of Rannells and Florent avenues had multiple warrants and his driver’s license was suspended. He was also charged with having marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his possession. He was arrested.

Thursday, July 25

  • Personal checks were reported stolen from a residence in the 2200 block of Blendon Place. The victim said an acquaintance had taken the checks and fraudulently cashed them at several places outside the Maplewood city limits.

Sunday, July 29

  • A 36-year-old man was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend who lives in the 3700 block of Greenwood Ave.  A further check revealed he had several outstanding warrants for his arrest.
