Maplewood Police to Enforce Seat Belt Campaign

The will be participating in the "Click It or Ticket" mobilization program on Nov. 18.

Law enforcement agencies throughout Missouri are participating in this statewide effort to get more motorists to buckle up - and save lives.

During the enforcement event, officers will be issuing citations to motorists who are in violation of the state and local seat belt law.

Despite evidence proving the benefits of wearing a seat belt, nearly one in four Missouri motorists are still not making it click. Seven out of 10 Missourians killed in traffic crashes are unbuckled.

"Seat belts are your single best defense in a crash," said Steven Kruse, chief of the Maplewood Police Department. "We will continue to encourage drivers to make a simple, smart choice to buckle up and arrive alive."
