Maplewood Robbery Didn't Happen: Preferred Boyfriend to Bus

The woman was charged with filing a false police report.

It seems a previously reported robbery in Maplewood never happened.

Maplewood police report that a 23-year-old woman was charged with filing a false police report on Sept. 20.

On Aug. 5 the woman reported being robbed by an unknown man at the intersection of Bellevue Avenue and Manchester Road.

Maplewood detectives investigated, and discovered inconsistencies in the woman’s account. When they confronted her about it, she said that the robbery actually never occurred.   

She admitted that on that night in August, she made up the robbery to get her boyfriend to pick her up so she wouldn’t have to take the bus.
