Maplewood to Build New Fire Station

The new fire station will replace the one that shares the city hall building.

Maplewood is looking for a contractor to build a new fire station and dispatch center. The city sent out a request for qualifications last month, and the deadline to be considered for the job was June 5.

The new station will be at 7629 Manchester Road, which has been a used car lot to the west of the current fire station.

The new station will have these features, as listed in the city request for qualifications. 

  • Three drive-thru apparatus bays
  • Bunk area to accommodate concurrent 24-hour occupancy of 10 personnel
  • Day room/kitchen areas
  • Office areas
  • Equipment and locker areas
  • Training/meeting rooms
  • Training tower
  • Coed occupancy privacy accommodations
  • Full service multi-agency police and fire dispatch center that will occupy approximately 2900 square feet
