Men Arrested for Fight Over Sam's Club Gas Pump, Maplewood Police Say

One of the men at the pumps did't like how the other pulled up to a pump.

Monday, July 29

  • A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting approximately $350 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.

  • An officer made contact with a man near the closed businesses of Deer Creek Plaza and discovered the man had 22 active warrants for his arrest through other jurisdictions. He was also found to be in possession of brass knuckles and he was additionally charged with carrying a concealed weapon.  
  • Graffiti was spray painted on several dumpsters in the areas of the 7200 block of Sarah and the 7200 block of Southwest.
  • A 33-year-old man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated as a result of an accident investigation near the intersection of Bernard and S. Hanley. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
  • Officers responded to the gas pumps of a Maplewood Commons business for a reported fight in progress. The officer found a 53-year-old man and a 68-year-old man involved in an fight at the gas pumps due to the fact one man was upset with the other in how he pulled up to the pumps from the wrong direction. Both men were issued summons for affray.
  • A female’s wallet was reportedly stolen from a Maplewood Commons business.  The wallet contained a cell phone, cash and credit cards. 

 Wednesday, July 31

  • A 33-year-old woman and a 31-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting approximately $180 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  •  A 36-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Approximately four vehicles were broken into in the areas of the 7300 block of Flora, 7500 block of St. Elmo, 7400 block of Canterbury, and the 7500 block of Sussex. A radar detector, car speakers and an amplifier were taken.

  • A 27-year-old man was arrested for peace disturbance in the 7200 block of Southwest. The man was allegedly intoxicated and banging on apartment windows in the early morning hours.
  •  A 27-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated resulting from a traffic stop conducted in the 7800 block of Manchester.
  • A 46-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  •  A 21-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.  The man was also found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at the time of his arrest. 

 Friday, August 2

  • A 26-year-old man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated in the 7400 block of Manchester.
  •  An unknown man allegedly failed to pay for approximately $60 in fuel from a gas station located in the 3000 block of Hanley.
  • Two juveniles were taken into custody on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Two credit cards were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 7200 block of Richmond. An unknown individual then fraudulently charged approximately $800 in purchases on the victim’s credit cards at the Maplewood Metro Link Station.  

Saturday, August 3

  • Officers responded to the 2100 block of Bellevue for a reported disturbance.  An investigation at the scene revealed a male and female had been involved in an argument. The man voluntarily left the residence. 

 Sunday, August 4

  • A 33-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting approximately $135 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. The woman was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia which was discovered on her at the time of her arrest.
