New Patrol Officer Hired in Brentwood

Ben Drexl was sworn in during Monday night's Brentwood Board of Aldermen meeting,

A St. Louis County man has been hired as Brentwood's newest patrol officer.

Ben Drexl, whose family still lives in the St. Louis area, was sworn into his position by Mayor Pat Kelly during a Brentwood Board of Aldermen meeting on Monday night.

"I couldn't be any happier," said Drexl after the meeting. "I ended up exactly where I wanted to be."

Drexl, 22, graduated from the Eastern Missouri Police Academy last November. His job with the is his first following his graduation.

Drexl was selected out of more than 55 applicants for the position, Chief Steve Disbennett said.
