Update: Police to Step Up Patrols After BB Gun Incidents

Windows in Maplewood and Richmond Heights have been hit recently.

Police in Maplewood and Richmond Heights have decided to beef up nighttime patrols after vandals with BB guns have shot at several homes and cars, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

As Patch reported earlier this week, Maplewood and Richmond Heights police departments have recently reported windows being damaged by a BB gun.

In Maplewood, police reported a vehicle window shattered by a shot from a BB gun on Jan. 25 in the 7500 block of West Bruno Avenue. Multiple vehicle windows were damaged the same way in the evening of Jan. 20 in the 2500 block of Valley Avenue.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to call Maplewood police at 314-645-3000 or the anonymous tip line at 314-781-3733.

In Richmond Heights, there have been numerous incidents of car and house windows being damaged by BB guns, police report. The damage has been mostly in Council Districts 1 & 2 (see map).

Richmond Heights police ask that anyone who sees anything suspicious, to please call 911 immediately. Anyone with information that may help in this investigation please call the non emergency line at 645-3000.
