Woman Causes $2,700 in Damage to Car After Argument, Police Say

Police said the vehicle owner said the defendant shouted obscenities at her as she walked through the parking lot at the Walmart in Maplewood.

A woman is charged with keying a vehicle following a parking lot argument outside the Maplewood Walmart store Jan. 16.

Nicole Ford, 35, of the 7000 block of Dover Court in University City, was charged  Thursday with first-degree property damage, a class D felony.

Maplewood Police said that Ford argued with another woman on the Walmart parking lot at 1900 Maplewood Commons. The vehicle owner told police Ford approached her and began shouting obscenities at her at about noon Jan. 16 as the woman walked through the parking lot.

Afterwards, video surveillance recorded Ford scratching the woman’s 2007 Cadillac with a key. Police said Ford scratched the roof, hoodand driver’s side door. Damage was estimated at $2,727.

Ford was being held at the St. Louis County Justice Services Center Monday in lieu of a $7,500.00 bond.
