MRH Family Dentistry's Last Day is Here: Demolition Set For 6 A.M. Wednesday

The MRH Family Dentistry office, and Maplewood home for 100 years, will come down on Wednesday.

The Maplewood home that housed for 80 years, and three generations of the Clifford family, will be hauled away in a day, starting at 6:00 tomorrow morning.

Dr. Wayne Fischer was at the house Tuesday afternoon as the demolition contractor was getting ready for the job.

He was showing photos of his burned dental chair he has on his cell phone. He was telling tales of his time in the office.

"I'm like a moth, I keep coming back," Fischer said. "I worked here 40 years, it's hard to stay away." He said won't be able to be there for the demolition.

Mid Caruthers, who is responsible for the demolition, said the work is planned to take a day, but he said it will be a full day.

Donna Clifford, the home's owner, will be there in time to watch the first blow. She said the home is still full of antiques that couldn't be retrieved.

"Antiques and secrets known only to me and the house will be soon be gone," she said.

She has plans for when it's over, when she goes back home to Florida.

"We're going to take Ted Drewes back with us to celebrate," she said. "That will be closure for all of us."
