Brentwood City Employees to Get Merit Raise if Current 2013 Budget Passes

The raise is in the budget, but several aldermen have stated opposition to it.

Brentwood Board of Aldermen will discuss the 2013 city budget at the meeting Monday.

The proposed budget currently includes a 3 percent merit raise for city employees. Aldermen Andy Leahy, Tom Kramer and Maureen Saunders said at a Ways and Means Committee meeting that the city should consider no raise or a reduced raise.

Police chief Steve Disbennett requested three additional patrol officers, which is not in the budget as it stands.
