Brentwood Police Commended for Seemayer Investigation

Two Brentwood detectives were recognized for their "outstanding work" during the investigation.

The gained some recogntion following its successful investigation of former Brentwood city administrator Chris Seemayer.

Detectives Rick Litschgi and Nick Stanze were commended in a letter from Assistant U.S. Attorney Hal Goldsmith, who prosecuted Seemayer in a federal court. Seemayer to stealing nearly $30,000 from the city he ran for more than two decades.

Goldsmith's letter was sent to police chief Steve Disbennett on Oct. 13. In the letter, Goldsmith writes:

"Detectives Stanze and Litschgi logged many hours conducting this financial investigation, which included reviewing many records and conducting many interviews. They left no stone unturned... We believe that the successful investigation and prosecution was a significant step in restoring Brentwood residents' trust in its city government."

Disbennett read the letter during a Brentwood Public Safety Committee meeting last Thursday and then shared it with Patch.
