City Administrator Bola Akande proposed the change last Wednesday during a Brentwood Ways and Means Committee meeting at .

Each city department is currently responsible for keeping track of how many hours each employee works. The new system would establish a uniform way to track the workdays, Akande said.

It would also tally vacation and sick leave days, she said.
