Brunner, Akin Stump on Friday Night

John Brunner and Todd Akin were working the crowds in St. Louis just days before the primary election that will determine which Republican will face Claire McCaskill in November for U.S. Senate.

U.S. Senate Candidate Todd Akin (R) bookended his Missouri bus tour with a rally at the Sheraton hotel in Westport Plaza.

Maryland Heights Patch reports that Akin's week-long bus tour covered Springfield, Joplin, Columbia and Kirksville. While in Liberty, MO, Akin served meals at Chick-Fil-A.

"During his speech he advocated for the United States to withdraw from the United Nations, for judges who defend the constitution and to add a Hancock Amendment that applies to the Federal level."

Creve Coeur Patch reports that has spent a considerable amount of time and his own personal fortune, criss-crossing Missouri advertising his candidacy in the U.S. Senate primary.

Friday night at the campaign's headquarters in Creve Coeur, the candidate rallied his team and motivated volunteers to scratch for every vote.

"He's sticking to his stump speech in the remaining days, echoing earlier themes of easing government red tape, criticism of President Obama's Health Care policy and cutting government spending. He's added the fact that campaign has poured money into the GOP race, with ads many suggest are a sign that Democrats hope U.S. Rep. Todd Akin (R-Wildwood) emerges as the winner."
