Chris Seemayer's Police Report Released to Public

The 34-page report includes notes from the Brentwood Police Department's investigation of the former Brentwood city administrator.

The , which led the investigation of Seemayer, wouldn't release his police report until the investigation was complete. Seemayer to stealing nearly $30,000 from the city he ran for more than two decades.

The report reveals few new details surrounding Seemayer's investigation, but here are some interesting notes:

  • Seemayer made 22 cash advances on a city credit card between Nov. 12, 2009, and March 5, 2011.
  • During the investigation, Brentwood detectives found 54 in Seemayer's office. The city contracted with Sprint for cell phone service.
  • In a statement, Mayor Pat Kelly said he was first made aware of cash advances on the city credit card in June 2010.
  • In a statement, financial officer Karen Mosby said she first noticed questionable spending in April 2010. On Feb. 8, 2011, Mosby was first alerted by about cash advances on a city credit card, and was instructed by the bank to tell someone with authority over Seemayer.
  • Police chief Steve Disbennett was first notified by city employees of the cash advances on March 9, 2011. That's when Seemayer was put on administrative leave by Kelly. Seemayer resigned two days later.
  • On one night in March 2011, Seemayer drove his city-issued vehicle to the Casino Queen in East St. Louis, IL, where he took out two cash advances on a city-issued credit card.
  • Nothing in the police report mentions investigating any financial statements prior to 2008.
