Brentwood Businesses Highlighted in Radio Holiday Campaign

It will be a short-term assignment.

For the third year in a row, the city of Brentwood will run radio advertisements during the holiday shopping season. The commercials urge consumers to shop in Brentwood stores.

The Brentwood Board of Aldermen approved a contract on Monday with the Glennon Company for a short-term consulting assignment for the upcoming holiday season. Ward 3 Alderman Andy Leady cast the lone vote against the agreement.

Leahy asked for statistical information to support the annual advertising campaign. Mayor Pat Kelly said the campaign has generated positive remarks from local vendors and residents, but no statistics were available about the effectiveness of the advertising.

In this year's agreement, compensation is not to exceed $35,000. That number is up slightly from last year’s actual expenditure of $32,100. That’s because two new radio commercials will be produced, Kelly said.
