Jumpin Jupiter Can Open Tonight, Probably For the Last Time

Since owner Jim Callahan wasn't at the revocation hearing, legally there's no proof he knows about it.

It appears Jumpin Jupiter will be open Thursday night because the owner, Jim Callahan has not received the notice of his business license revocation yet.

He dodged a bullet by not being at the license revocation hearing on Tuesday, where the city attorney determined the business should close for not paying state taxes.

Maplewood City Manager Marty Corcoran said it appears he will receive the notice tonight, when Jumpin Jupiter opens, and won’t open Friday.

"It would be like you being told you can’t do something, but you don’t know about it yet, and so you go ahead and do it, and then you get in trouble," Corcoran said.

"Being honest, I believe he’ll be open tonight. That will be the last time he will be open," he said.

There is still the possibility Callahan will have paid the state taxes, which the city will find out tonight.
