Kellogg Park to Get New Parking Spaces
16 new spaces will make the park even more accessible for residents and their pets.
A bid in the amount of $58,375 for the construction of 16 new parking spaces at Kellogg Park was approved at Tuesday night's Maplewood City Council meeting.
The project is the most recent of to have taken place at the park in the past year and a half, including an initial 15 parking space installation and a new dog swimming pool.
The spaces will be installed along Rannells Avenue and Circle Drive to make the park, and adjacent dog park, more accessible for residents and other patrons.

Director of Public Works Anthony Traxler said the new spaces will also be useful once the city makes future improvements to the park's field for organized sports activities.
Traxler recommended Dura Seal Paving Contractors, Inc. for the job, which the city has worked with successfully in the past on projects like the recent .

$24,375 for the space additions will be paid for by the city through the 1/2 Cent Parks & Stormwater Fund, while the remaining $34,000 will come from Federal Block Grant funds.
City Manager Marty Corcoran said residents can expect construction to begin within the next 30 to 40 days once Dura Seal acquires the necessary paperwork.
