Leaf Vacuuming in Maplewood Starts Monday
It's a free service offered by the city.
The City of Maplewood recently announced its schedule for curbside leaf removal this year.
The city offers leaf vacuuming as a free service to its residents. Crews from the are scheduled to begin on Monday. The schedule, released by the city, is available below:
- Monday, Nov. 7 and Tuesday, Nov. 8: South of Manchester Road and west of Big Bend Boulevard
- Wednesday, Nov. 9 through Friday, Nov. 11: North of Manchester Road and west of Big Bend Boulevard
- Monday, Nov. 14 through Wednesday, Nov. 16: North of Manchester Road and east of Big Bend Boulevard
- Thursday, Nov. 17 and Friday, Nov. 18: South of Manchester Road and east of Big Bend Boulevard
- Monday, Nov. 21 through Wednesday, Nov. 23: South of Greenwood Boulevard
Residents should rake leaves to the tree lawn between the sidewalk and curb. The city asks that you avoid raking leaves into the street because leaves can clog storm sewers.

If leaves are wet, crews will return another day, because wet leaves clog the machines, the city noted. Leaves mixed with debris won't be vacuumed.
Crews will make a second pass through the city starting Monday, Nov. 28 and ending Saturday, Dec. 31.
