Antique Shop Seeks OK, Reelected Members To Be Sworn In at Maplewood Council Meeting

The antique shop would like to operate in what was once The Print Station.

At the Maplewood City Council meeting, at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, the newly reelected city officials will be sworn in, and graduates of Maplewood's Citizen’s Academy will be recognized.

These items are on the agenda:

Item no. 5, a resolution declaring the election results of the General Election for Mayor, Councilpersons and Proposition Q held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 as official. Proposition Q was the the voter referendum which passed, allowing QuikTrip to move from its current location to the northwest corner of Manchester and Big Bend.

 Item no. 7, is the swearing in ceremony for newly elected officials.

  • Mayor: James P. White - 1,117 votes to 87 write-ins
  • Ward 1: David J. Cerven - (Ward 1) had 310 votes to 7 write-ins
  • Ward 2: Fred P. Wolf - (Ward 2) had 304 votes to 22 write-ins
  • Ward 3: Shawn Faulkingham - (Ward 3) had 450 votes to 19 write-ins

Item no. 11, is a public hearing to hear citizen’s comments on a request for a Conditional Use Permit to operate an antique furniture and accessories shop including rugs and lamps at 7415 Manchester Avenue, (formerly The Print Station).

Item no. 15, is the election of deputy mayor.

Item no. 16, is the presentation of Citizen’s Academy certificates to Aaron Armstrong, Luke Havel, Kurt Heidrich, Cassandra Maynard, Kim Noonan, Kristin Schultz, Jonathan Spencer and Colleen Zurliene.

Item no. 17, is a resolution appointing Brian Dunlop as municipal judge and Stuart O’Brien and Jim Whitney as provisional municipal judges to serve if Mr. Dunlop is unavailable.

Item no. 18, is a resolution authorizing the city manager to accept the negotiated bid of H&G Sales- Schultz Door in the amount of $6,780 for materials and installation of an access control upgrade for increased security for the two entrance/exit doors to the police department in order to comply with standards required by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.

Item no. 19, is a resolution authorizing the city manager to submit a land and water conservation grant to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to create a park or recreational green space at 2268 and 2270 Yale Avenue.

Item no. 20, is an ordinance authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement between the City of Maplewood and St. Louis County for Computer Aided Report Entry Services (C.A.R.E.).

Item no. 21, Bill 5898, is an ordinance granting a Conditional Use Permit to James Afflixio to operate an antique furniture and accessories shop including rugs and lamps to be located at 7415 Manchester Avenue (formerly The Print Station).
