Maplewood Firefighter is Honored at Council Meeting

John Patterson is retiring after 34 1/2 years as a firefighter.

Maplewood firefighter John Patterson was honored at the Tuesday city council meeting on his retirement after 34 1/2 years of service.

Patterson joined the Maplewood Fire Department on May 15, 1978.

Mayor James White read a resolution that noted Patterson's "obvious dedication to getting the job done in an outstanding manner," and that he "worked constantly for the betterment of the Maplewood Fire Department."

The resolution also stated Patterson "has demonstrated his unselfish dedication and personal commitment to the dedication of life and property to the citizens of the City of Maplewood ad to his fellow firefighters."
