"We learn some things about the history of Brentwood through reading the deed," Fitzgerald said.

For example, the historical society learned the origin of Annalee and Madge avenues. Annalee and Madge were daughters of Dr. Isaac Shelby Warren, who originally owned the property where Lowe's house sits.

Fitzgerald estimated that Brentwood is home to about 40 other century homes. If you wish to add your home to the list, contact the historical society at 314-961-7948 or visit on Fridays between 10 a.m. and noon.
